History of Man Up God’s Way
In Feb 2011, I was challenged to write my testimony on paper. Word by word, I started writing a paragraph, then a page, and continued on until I had one hundred and fifty pages. In Oct of that same year, those 150 pages became eight-chapters of my first book and launched what would be the beginning of Man Up God’s Way men’s ministry.
Man Up- Becoming a Godly Man in an Ungodly World has sold over 30,000 paperback and eBooks and has been an Amazon best seller for 10 years. Today, it still ranks in the top 50 books in the category for Christian men’s issues. To say the least, God has used this book to challenge men to become what He needs them to be!
Over these 10 years, amazingly, God has given me the opportunity to write devotions for major movies (Hacksaw Ridge and Indivisible) and be interviewed by nationally known magazines, radio and tv shows. I have also written two other books Pursuit of a Godly Life and The Marriage Advance. And currently, have three other books in the works, Man Up- Becoming a Godly Man in An Ungodly World (2nd edition, 10 year anniversary) Expectation Conversations (A marriage book) and Pornified Believer- The Virtual Death of a Generation.
Along with writing, God has open doors for me to speak at some of the largest men’s events in the US and host our own Man Up God’s Way experience. I have witness hundreds of men come to know the Lord and watch them go home to lead their families as God has called them to do. And again, this year, we will be hosting our 6th annual, Man Up God’s Way National Event in Bourbon, MO Oct 1-3 for a 10-year celebration. We are praying and expecting God to show up and show off!
Our ministry has the largest social media presence, for men’s ministry, in the world! We have 876,000 followers on Facebook, 32,000 on Instagram, and a few more thousands on other platforms such as Twitter, MeWe etc. We are spreading the Gospel one like at a time.
In 2015, God called me and my family, to be the lead pastor for Ignite Church in Eureka MO and it’s a role we continue today! We are a growing church that is reaching the lost, discipling all those who will listen and sending, all those who will go! And in 2018, I closed down my business of 15 yrs. to go into full time ministry. It has been amazing and daunting all at the same time. But God provides.
That’s all been in 10 years and there is so much more to tell you, but I don’t want to take up any more time than I have too.
Our Need
Due to the Covid pandemic and shutdowns, our conference schedule came to a screeching halt. For the ministry, it’s our main avenue for revenue. This is how we continue the ministry efforts, programs, marketing and conferences. Like with all of our efforts, we do them in excellence or don’t do them at all. And it takes money to do most of them.
We are in need of $ 10,000.00 for the remainder of the year. This will help cover expenses and capital to upgrade our current ministries. Here is our vision:
By giving your tax-deductible donation, you can help us reach more men and families for the sake of the gospel. We believe God has called us to this ministry and has opened so many doors to allow us to keep doing it! But we need your help! In 10 years of ministry, I have never asked for more than a few thousand dollars for mission trips and ext. For us, $ 10,000.00 is a big ask, but only a portion of what we could really use.
So, for our 10-year anniversary, $ 10,000.00 sounds like a good (or God) amount to ask for! I want to ask for two things: one, please pray for us! It is a battle on the front line and your prayers are coveted! Second, can I ask you to pray and seek God’s wisdom to see if He would lead you to donate? This is only going out to about 50 people. People who know me, know the ministry God has led my family to, and know that we will do what we say we will.

- Some of this money will be to host our Man Up conference in Oct. With our revenue depleted, we have no working capital to run this conference in excellence. Speakers, bands, gifts will all need to be funded up front. Our goal is to keep the cost of attending down in order to attract as many men as the venue will hold. Approx. 250. It’s a three-day conference that is all inclusive at Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, MO. Men have described it "it's like drinking from a fire hydrant."
- To build a working video/ audio studio. The church I pastor has graciously offered to let us house the studio, for free, in the church. This will give us a place to create video-based studies, podcast and interview type shows. Ones that we will share with the Man Up Community and the church. With our social media presence, it will give us the ability to get the message of Jesus to millions. We are working with a two-time Emmy award winning producer to set it up.
- To help cover the cost of editing and marketing the 3 new books coming out this year. We are praying for these books to bring Jesus, healing and restoration to hundreds of thousands of men and women. The revised Man Up- Becoming a Godly Man in an Ungodly World will be updated with 10 years of “real world” experiences, success and failures of the ministry and of myself, personally. Expectation Conversations is a book that will bring conversation back into the marriage and unite couples in 7 areas that many struggle with. We are also hoping this will spark marriage conference for my wife and I to host and attend. Marriage conferences will bring in more revenue and bring more couples to the Lord for the future of Man Up God’s Way! And the book I have been working on for 5 years, is a book that will hit men at the core of their being. Pornified Believer is a personal book of my struggle with and my victory over pornography. This issue is the #1 issue we address in the ministry.
- Man Up God’s Way has partnered with Kingsmen Men’s Ministry to create a church wide coaching program for pastors and ministry leaders. This subscription base program will help leaders funnel their men through a 40 day challenge of faith, fitness, family, finances, and focus. Which will then lead to ongoing discipleship in and through the church. Funds are needed to produce and create the content, platform and software. - Haiti Man Up God’s Way- in 2017, God opened a door for me and my family to visit Haiti. In that open door, He led us to a church that leads 40 other church in the country. With a 95% fatherless rate in the country, Man Up God’s Way is the perfect ministry to help these churches. I’ve visited 4 times since 2017 and had the privilege to speak to all 40 pastors. They voted 4 men to run the Man Up God’s Way Haiti in which we support online and meet with everytime we go to Haiti. Ongoing funds are needed to create French content and a French translated Man Up book. As well as travel money to visit often.
