Back to the Basics
Ignite Church 2025 Vision
In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Distractions, busyness, and cultural noise often drown out the simplicity of the Gospel. But as Ignite Church moves forward in 2025, we are committing to go Back to the Basics—rediscovering the foundational truths of our faith, staying grounded in God’s Word, and living out His love in our daily lives.
Jesus never intended for faith to be complicated. He called us to love God, love others, and make disciples (Matthew 22:37-39; 28:19). It’s time to return to that simple, powerful truth.
1. Stay Grounded in the Word
"Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You." – Psalm 119:11 (LSB)
The Bible is not just another book—it is the living, breathing Word of God. Yet, so many believers struggle with consistency in reading and applying Scripture. Without the Word, we drift. Without truth, we are vulnerable to lies.
Going Back to the Basics means committing daily to God’s Word. Not just skimming a verse here and there, but genuinely treasuring it in our hearts. Imagine what would happen if Ignite Church became a body of believers anchored in Scripture—knowing, living, and sharing it!
How to Get Back to the Word:
2. Love God with All Your Heart
"And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’" – Matthew 22:37 (LSB)
Loving God is more than attending church on Sundays or praying before meals. It is a lifestyle—a full surrender of our hearts, minds, and souls to the One who created us. It means putting Him first in every area of our lives.
Loving God is obedience, choosing to follow Him even when it’s hard. It’s worship, not just through music but through how we live. It’s prayer, continually seeking Him, not just in crisis but in every moment.
How to Deepen Your Love for God:
3. Love Others Like Jesus Did
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another." – John 13:34 (LSB)
The world is full of brokenness, division, and selfishness. But as believers, we are called to be different. Jesus didn’t just tell us to love—He showed us how. He loved sacrificially, unconditionally, and without limits. If we are serious about going Back to the Basics, we must take love seriously.
Loving others is not an option—it’s a command. It means forgiving when it’s hard, showing grace when it’s undeserved, and serving even when it’s inconvenient.
How to Love Others Well:
Ignite Church, this is our moment. God is calling us to go deeper by returning to the simple, powerful truths of the faith.
✔ Stay grounded in the Word.
✔ Love God with all your heart.
✔ Love others like Jesus did.
If we commit to these three basics, revival will follow. Families will be transformed. Our community will see the power of the Gospel in action. And we will live out the calling God has placed on our church.
Let’s not overcomplicate what Jesus made clear. Let’s ignite a movement by going Back to the Basics—together.
