How to Biblically Changed Your Mind

How to Change Your Mind Biblically

Have you ever found yourself stuck in a certain way of thinking, even when it goes against your values or what you know to be true? Changing our minds can be difficult, but it's an important part of personal growth and living a life aligned with our biblical values and beliefs. If 2023 is going to be different from 2022, then it may take a change of mind. In this blog post, we'll explore how to change our minds biblically, using principles and teachings from God Himself.

  1. Seek wisdom from God.
Proverbs 4:7 says, "“The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding." When we're trying to change our minds, it's important to seek guidance and wisdom from God. This can be done through prayer, reading the Bible, and seeking counsel from trusted Christian friends and mentors.

  1. Consider the evidence.
In Acts 17:11, the apostle Paul is described as "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.'" When we're trying to change our minds, it's important to consider the evidence and not just rely on our own opinions or biases. This can involve examining the Bible, seeking out sources of information, and being open to hearing different perspectives.

  1. Surrender your will to God.
In Romans 12:2, Paul writes, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." Changing our minds can be difficult, especially when it goes against our own desires or what we've previously believed. But surrendering our will to God and seeking to align our thoughts and actions with His will can help us to transform our minds and discern what is good and acceptable.

  1. Practice humility.
Proverbs 11:2 says, "When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom." Humility is an important virtue when it comes to changing our minds, as it allows us to be open to new ideas and perspectives, and to recognize when we may have been wrong.

  1. Trust in God's sovereignty.
Finally, it's important to trust in God's sovereignty when we're trying to change our minds. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Trusting in God's sovereignty means recognizing that He is in control and that He has a plan for our lives. This can give us the courage and confidence to change our minds, even when it's difficult.

Changing our minds can be a challenging process, but it's an important part of personal growth and living a life aligned with our values and beliefs. By seeking wisdom from God, considering the evidence, surrendering our will to Him, practicing humility, and trusting in His sovereignty, we can change our minds biblically and grow in our faith.

Are you ready for a change? Then put these practices in action and watch 2023 be the best year of your life! That's what I am praying for, will you join me?
