How to Start a Prayer Journal
Starting a prayer journal is a great way to deepen your relationship with God and grow in your faith. I've been doing one for 15 years, it helps build my faith by seeing the answered prayers of the past. A prayer journal allows you to write down your thoughts, feelings, and prayers, helping you to reflect on your spiritual journey and connect with God on a more personal level.
Here are some tips on how to start a prayer journal:
Starting a prayer journal can be a powerful way to deepen your relationship with God and grow in your faith. I encourage you to start one today. You'll be amazed on how deep your faith will grow!

Here are some tips on how to start a prayer journal:
- Choose the right journal: The first step in starting a prayer journal is to choose the right journal. Look for a journal that you find aesthetically pleasing and that feels good to write in. Some people prefer journals with lined pages, while others prefer blank pages. Consider the size of the journal as well, as you may want to take it with you when you travel. There are very inexpensive ones on Amazon and you can get them in packs of 10 or more.
- Set a regular time: Set aside a regular time each day to write in your prayer journal. This can be in the morning before you start your day, in the evening before you go to bed, or during your lunch break. I do mine after my devotion. Setting a regular time will help you to make prayer journaling a habit and ensure that you don't forget to do it.
- Find a quiet place: Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can focus and write without any distractions. This could be a cozy corner in your home, a park, or a quiet coffee shop. It's important to choose a place where you feel relaxed and at ease.
- Begin with a prayer: Begin each entry with a prayer. This can be a prayer of gratitude, a prayer for guidance, or a prayer of confession. Start by thanking God for his blessings and ask for his help in your daily life. I tend to write my prayer vibratum, in my journal.
- Reflect on your entries: Take time to reflect on your entries and the insights that you gain from them. Look for patterns or recurring themes in your writing. I look for repetitive prayers or selfish prayers. If I keep asking for the same thing, have I truly given it to God? This can help you to identify areas where you need to grow and where you need God's help.
- Keep your journal private: Your prayer journal is a personal and private space. Keep it somewhere safe where others won't read it. This will help you to feel more comfortable sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings with God.
Starting a prayer journal can be a powerful way to deepen your relationship with God and grow in your faith. I encourage you to start one today. You'll be amazed on how deep your faith will grow!

Pastor Jody
